MTN'S EKASI TV SITES TO CARRY 'THE STATE OF THE NATION' PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS

Cellular network operator MTN has put its committed, proudly SA approach to the fore with tonight’s State of the Nation address by President Jacob Zuma, set to be available to the public free of charge at MTN Ekasi TV sites in various communities across the country.

As the Rainbow Nation celebrates 20 years of freedom in the young South African democracy, the broadcast (19h00 start) will be beamed on to MTN Ekasi TV sites in the following areas:

Gauteng:
Diepsloot (Soweto), Diepsloot Park (Diepsloot), Etafeni Park (Tembisa), Ivory Park Regional Park (Midrand), Joubert Park (Johannesburg Central), Kremetart Park (Eldorado Park), Kwa-Thema Park (Springs),  Kwenele Regional Park (Kathlehong), Orange Farm Regional Park (Orange Farm), Orlando West Regional Park (Soweto), Rose Park (Lenasia), Thokoza Park (Soweto), Mhluzi Park (Tshwane)

Limpopo:
Makushane Camp (Phalaborwa)

Mpumalanga:

By allowing thousands of South Africans to follow the State of the Nation address on the MTN Ekasi TV sites, MTN has yet again shown its commitment towards empowering people with information via its communication network systems which are of the highest calibre.

The MTN Ekasi TV sites will also be used to allow football enthusiasts around the country to stay in touch with all the on-field action during the 2010 FIFA World Cup ™ to be held in SA in June.

MTN is the official mobile operator sponsor for the FIFA 2010 World Cup ™.

The focal point in this year’s address is the fact that South Africa is celebrating 20 years of freedom. This is happening in the year when the country is hosting the FIFA World Cup. For the first time in history, the address will be done in the evening @ 19:00 pm. This year’s celebrations in Parliament will be attended by the former President Mr. Nelson Mandela himself.

Interestingly, all MTN Ekasi TV sites will broadcasting the proceedings live, giving communities around the country an opportunity to view this historic event for FREE.
